Last season, she made her debut with Dutch National Opera and returns to both Welsh National Opera as the title role of Tosca. She also made debuts with Finnish National Opera, reprising Helen in Turnage’s Festen, Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia singing Bruckner’s Grosse Messe with Sir Antonio Pappageno conducting, and the Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra conducted by Keri-Lynn Wilson in Verdi’s Requiem in addition to singing Strauss’ Vier letze Lieder with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

She is sought-after for her portrayal of title role of Tosca and has sung previous performances of the role at the Royal Ballet and Opera and with Staatsoper Hamburg, Oper Frankfurt, Deutsche Oper Berlin, English National Opera, and Scottish Opera. Also at Royal Ballet and Opera, where she is a company favorite, she made her role debut as Sieglinde in a new production of Die Walküre directed by Barrie Kosky and with Sir Antonio Pappano conducting and create the role of Helena in the world premiere of Turnage’s Festen in Richard Jones’ production. With Garsington Opera, she has sung the title roles of Ariadne auf Naxos and The Bartered Bride, Tatyana in Eugene Onegin, and the titular Rusalka, the last of which she also sang with the company on tour to the Edinburgh International Festival. She has sung Giorgetta in Il tabarro and Angelica in Suor Angelica with Welsh National Opera, made a house and role debut a title role of Jenůfa with Opéra de Rouen and returned to Houston Grand Opera as Blanche in Dialogues des Carmélites following Ortlinde in Die Walküre.

She has sung the title role of Kát’a Kabanová and Alice Ford in Falstaff with Grange Park Opera, Lisa in Pique Dame at the National Theatre Brno and Opera Holland Park, Fiora in L’amore di tre re and Malliela in Wolf Ferrari’s I gioielli della Madonna with Opera Holland Park, as well as Cio-Cio San in Madama Butterfly and Mimì in La bohème for English National Opera. She has sung previous performances of the title role of Jenůfa with Grange Park Opera and Tatyana in Eugene Onegin with Welsh National Opera and Scottish Opera.

Ms. Romaniw joined Sir Antonio Pappano and the London Symphony Orchestra for Vaughan Williams’ Sea Symphony at the Edinburgh International Festival Britten’s War Requiem at the BBC Proms, the latter of which she also sang at the Theatro Municipal de São Paulo. She sang Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 14 with Kirill Karabits leading the National Polish Radio Orchestra and has recorded the same piece for BBC Radio 3 with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. Also with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, she has sung Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915, also at the BBC Proms. She has sung Verdi’s Requiem and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with Sir Mark Elder conducting the Hallé and repeated the latter with Rafael Payare conducting the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra at the Edinburgh International Festival. She has also joined the Hallé for Strauss’ Vier letzte Lieder and Mahler’s Symphony No. 2. She joined the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra for the world premiere of Turnage’s Testament, also with Kirill Karabits. Also at the Edinburgh International Festival, she sang Elgar’s The Kingdom led by Martin Brabbins, and Mirga Gražinytė Tyla conducted her in performances of Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. She has sung Giorgetta in Il tabarro in concert with Mark Elder conducting at the BBC Proms and joined Ben Glassberg and the BBC Philharmonia Orchestra for “A night at the opera.” She recently released her first solo recital with pianist Lada Valesova.

She is a former Butler Studio Artist of Houston Grand Opera, and while with the company, sang  her first performances of Mimì in La bohème, Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, Micaëla in Carmen, and Krystina in Weinberg’s The Passenger. She was named Young Artist of the Year at the Gramophone Classical Music Awards and won the Singer Award at the Royal Philharmonic Society Awards in 2020. Her many other competition and prize wins include the First Prize and the Lovelady Song Prize from the Kathleen Ferrier Awards and from the Houston Grand Opera Eleanor McCollum Competition. She is a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, at which she won the prestigious Gold Medal in her final year.
